What is the difference between a Double Cab, King Cab, Quad Cab, Extended Cab and an Access Cab truck? Well, these are all terms used to describe a truck maker’s cab style or size. Despite all of the terms above meaning essentially the same thing, a truck with a cab that has a full sized front door with a smaller sized rear door, each manufacturer makes it a point to give a specific cab style their own name. In addition, over the years, truck manufacturers have occasionally changed the terminology they use for cab sizes, causing some confusion among consumers. Here is an explanation of how each manufacturer has renamed them over time. Hopefully it will shed some clarity in all the semantic confusion.
